On January 25, 2022, METRO released a revised draft of its Reimagined Network as Phase 2 of its public engagement process that will run through March 4, 2022.
Reimagine METRO will develop a detailed service plan for a redesigned suite of mobility services that meet the goals of METRO’s Strategic Plan, adopted in November 2020. Specifically, the plan will make transit more useful to more people, by focusing services where people travel most and for whom transit is essential.
The Reimagined Network focuses on METRO’s fixed-route service. A redesigned suite of demand response services (such as SCAT, ADA, Call-A-Bus and METRO Connect) will complement the Reimagined Network with more details being shared for input in the coming months. The Reimagined Network creates routes that run more often, streamlines and adds trips in northern Summit County, and creates new connections to Cuyahoga and Portage Counties.
“The revised Reimagined Network is based on feedback we received in 2021. We are seeking additional input to make final adjustments,” said METRO CEO Dawn Distler. “The plan is scheduled to be implemented in 2023. It is vitally important to hear from riders, potential riders and non-riders alike during this process, as we are reimagining the future of METRO services in Summit County.”
METRO encourages members of the public to learn more about the Reimagined Network and take a short online survey and visit reimagine-metro.com for details.
METRO will also be hosting a public open house at the Robert K. Pfaff Transit Center (631 S. Broadway St.) on Tuesday, February 15 from 7am-7pm to showcase the proposal and gather additional feedback.
Alternatively, those interested can tune into a webinar on Tuesday, February 22 at 1:00pm to learn more.
