METRO is pleased to announce it will provide regular transit service on Independence Day, July 4, 2021, and regular weekday service on Monday, July 5, the state-recognized holiday.
This change in service was prompted by customer feedback, which METRO uses to guide improvements of the customer experience and empower positive change in its operations for the community’s benefit.
“As Summit County’s public transit provider, we have a responsibility to meet the changing transportation needs of our community,” said METRO CEO Dawn Distler. “We recognize that those needs span the length of the entire year, including holidays. METRO is fully committed to providing reliable transportation for the community.”
In a series of public outreach surveys in 2020, 43% of online survey respondents said their primary mode of transportation is transit. More than 90% identified themselves as daily or regular transit users. With so many transit-loyal customers, METRO is proud to provide Independence Day bus service so the community we serve can get to work, the grocery store, community events, and more.
“They asked, we answered,” said Distler. “It’s our privilege to serve the community equitably; it’s what we do.”
