METRO Regional Transit Authority is pleased expand its Book It On METRO program to include Barberton, Cuyahoga Falls, Twinsburg, and Stow-Monroe Falls public libraries. The four libraries join Akron-Summit County Public Library, who pioneered Book It On METRO in September 2020.
Passengers with a valid library card for Barberton, Cuyahoga Falls, Twinsburg, Stow-Monroe Falls, or Akron Summit-County Public Library can ride free on METRO fixed-routes on the first Thursday of the month when they show their library card to the bus operator upon boarding. Up to two children, age five and under, can ride free with an adult showing a valid library card. Free rides are not valid on METRO SCAT/Paratransit, Call-A-Bus, or NCX.
“This is a win for the residents of Stow-Munroe Falls,” said Gale Koritansky, Director of Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library. “This program improves access to library materials, resources, and services for our patrons … and we’re happy to be involved. Your library card is truly one of the most important cards in your wallet.”
“We are excited and grateful to partner with three more libraries to expand Book It On METRO and reach more Summit County residents,” said METRO CEO Dawn Distler. “Library resources and programming are important to our community.”
