METRO Regional Transit Authority of Akron, Ohio is currently seeking applicants for its Journeyman Mechanic Apprenticeship Program.
This is a 24-month training program which should ultimately qualify the apprentice to become a journeyman mechanic and perform all phases of bus repair. The position requires 1-2 years of post-high school training at a diesel tech school. Applicants can have no more than two points on their driver’s license and must pass a drug screen, functional capacity exam, physical and background check prior to acceptance into the program.
