METRO is pleased to announce a collaboration with Greater Akron Chamber and Downtown Akron Partnership in an opportunity to provide a free shuttle to our community on Small Business Saturday, November 26, and on Artist Sunday, November 27.
"METRO is excited to provide the community with an opportunity to support local downtown businesses,” said METRO CEO Dawn Distler. "The free shuttle service will allow our passengers to effortlessly visit local businesses to shop for holiday gifts, grab a bite to eat or have a beverage, or explore the downtown area. METRO has made it even easier by allowing passengers to park across the street from the Robert K. Pfaff Transit Center and board the shuttle there, eliminating the stress of parking."
The shuttle is free to the community and will run from the Robert K. Pfaff Transit Center from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on 25-minute intervals. The service will begin at the RKP Transit Center and turn around at Northside Station. Passengers can enter or exit the shuttle at any bus stop along Main Street.
METRO will be adding two temporary stops near Northside Marketplace (outbound) and near Missing Falls Brewery (inbound). Passengers going to Northside Marketplace should board the bus at the temporary outbound stop near the Marketplace to return to downtown. They will loop through Northside Station before returning downtown. Bus stop signs will be labeled as shuttle stops for clarity.
The shuttle makes it convenient to visit a plethora of downtown businesses to shop, eat, or play.
