Most people know public transit is eco-friendly. What isn’t, however, is the amount of paper it takes to print bus schedules. While it’s true that METRO has printed fewer schedules in recent years, the local transportation system hopes to one day eliminate all paper schedules. While that day may be far away, there are still things the agency is doing to work toward that goal.

In observance of Earth Day on Friday, April 20th, paper schedules will be unavailable at METRO’s Robert K. Pfaff Transit Center.

There are still many options for those who rely on schedules. Preferably, passengers with smart phones will utilize METRO’s digital schedules available on akronmetro.org. Passengers without smart phones can prepare ahead of time by saving their paper schedule(s) in advance of Earth Day.

METRO looks forward to helping its passengers further advocate for the planet by going paperless.
