Mission Statement
The mission of the METRO Transit Police Agency is the protection of life and property of the METRO ridership and employees. Officers will work in partnership with the community to define and find solutions to problems which confront those who ride or operate METRO. 
Those officers assigned to the agency will patrol stations, stops, vehicles, transfers, and pedestrian areas throughout the METRO service area. The officers will perform a wide variety of duties utilizing Community Oriented Policing (COP) to enforce laws and ordinances, as well as focus on proactive crime prevention and suppression.
How We Began
The METRO Transit Police Department was formed in April 2017 to focus on security-related activity involving bus operators and public transportation. METRO is one of two transit police agencies in Ohio.
